The Spiritual Life of FIM

Annual spiritual journey, lived in four stages, by all members involved or in formation within the International Family of Mercy.

The steps are written according to the annual theme chosen, then deepened from September to April.

The first step is always to prepare FIM members to make their annual commitment.

For 2022-2023, the annual theme is “In this new time, let us open the doors, the three keys of Charisma in hand!”

Participants are invited to learn about the various episodes in Rosalie’s life by integrating them and making connections with their own journey, and then to share their discoveries in small group meetings.

The different themes addressed:

• Revisiting my childhood to better understand myself;
• Relationships that give meaning to my life;
• Opportunities, an open door to a treasure trove of life;
• These trials that made me grow;
• Forgiveness in my life;
• My intimate relationship with God;
• Honoring who I am.

Through a process of ten (10) meetings, after having considered the motivations for undertaking this experience of the Exercises in Daily Life (ELC), the participants will be invited to walk through the following themes

• The care I give to my body through the five senses;
• The care I give to my body and my relationship to time;
• Daily relationships;
• Portrait of life;
• To welcome the truth of my taste for life, as captured through my life portrait and my personal history;
• To welcome the truth of my taste for life, as experienced through my meaningful relationships;
• To welcome the truth of my taste for life, as experienced through my family and parental relationships;
• To accept the truth of my desire to live, as revealed by the image I have of the “God of my life”;
• To welcome the truth of my taste for life, as revealed in my religious history.

Meetings of sharing the Word are lived in three (3) very simple steps inspired by Jean-Jacques Olier (French School of Spirituality):

1. To have Jesus in front of our eyes: we observe the scene from the outside, as spectators (places, characters, words, actions) in order to see all the details of the gospel scene;
2. To have Jesus in our hearts: we put ourselves in the shoes of the characters to grasp their emotions, their deepest intentions, what is inside them;
3. Having Jesus in our hands: we ask ourselves how this Word can enlighten our concrete life, what call arises for us now.
